CHAPTER 4 - TICKLE RIGHT

With my interest in Human psychology growing, I started reading more about how the brain functions and how thoughts and intellect are created in humans.

While I was expanding CCC, Karan and Akash, two of my friends from NMIMS were just forming the base of Goodlife Education. An organisation giving training in Stock Markets, Real Estate and Digital Media Marketing. It seemed exciting enough and CCC was fairly stable and mom had also started full time working so I didn't have much to do. So I joined Goodlife as a co-founder. An exciting phase as we were selling courses to individuals over 15 years of age. This was a totally new demographic for me and also the working environment was different as I was working with a team for the first time and realised what we can accomplish with a team. Karan’s dad had an old office he didnt use, roughly 250 square feet and we ran our first course over there for only 4 students. From that to over 250 students in 1.5 years and we had entered colleges and started giving our courses in these colleges.

"By the time I took an exit, Goodlife was offering its courses in around 22 colleges in the city with recurring batches fast filling. Today, goodlife education has become Indian Institute of Digital Education under Karan’s splendid leadership and has grown to be India’s most preferred Digital Education institute and now growing internationally as well."

Learning - Totally different demographic and a totally different field. Learning the power of a great team and an understanding of how geographical demographics impacts the decisions of the target market. Developed interest in human psychology and sales. Learnt problem solving!

Myth busted - Once you get an audience for a product, we can sell them other products that solve their other needs. While in Goodlife Education we realised that while we were working on getting an audience, we were also simultaneously creating multiple products for the same audience. Goodlife Education first started as only a stock market training institute, but eventually we started offering social media training, real estate training etc. Instead we should have focused on only 1 product and should have become a leader in the same. But till I left, we didn't have that strategy and though it was a growing business, we never mastered any one direction.
